BookerBot
Live product · WhatsApp-native bookingBookerBot is a WhatsApp-native appointment booking platform we built and now run for South African service businesses. Customers book, reschedule, and pay without downloading an app — everything happens in WhatsApp, the channel they already use every day. It is live, with paid plans from R299 a month.

Highlights
- WhatsApp-first booking — no app download required
- Automated reminders cut no-shows
- Paystack-powered deposits and payments
- Multi-staff calendars with real-time availability
- Multilingual support via Google Cloud Translate
Context
Why BookerBot exists
South African service businesses — salons, barbers, clinics, consultants — rely heavily on WhatsApp to communicate with clients. But booking is still manual: back-and-forth messages, missed appointments, no payment integration, and no centralised schedule.
Existing booking tools either ignore WhatsApp entirely or treat it as an afterthought. They force clients onto a separate app or website, which kills conversion in a market where WhatsApp is the default communication channel. Business owners needed something that meets their clients where they already are.
Studio role
- Product strategy and architecture
- Full-stack development (Laravel + React + Inertia)
- WhatsApp Cloud API integration
- Paystack payment gateway integration
- UI/UX design and component system
- Infrastructure and deployment (Railway)
Approach
- Built the conversational booking flow directly on the WhatsApp Cloud API — clients interact with a structured message flow, not a chatbot that guesses intent.
- Designed a multi-tenant SaaS architecture so each business gets its own workspace, staff calendars, and service catalogue.
- Integrated Paystack for deposit collection and full payments, with configurable rules per service.
- Added automated WhatsApp reminders (24h and 1h before appointments) to reduce no-shows.
- Built a real-time admin dashboard with analytics: bookings, revenue, no-show rates, and peak hours.
- Implemented multilingual support using Google Cloud Translate so businesses can serve clients in their preferred language.
